There are many things that can bring you to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Perhaps you're visiting a friend, interviewing for a job, or attending a trade show on how to sell your jewelry. There are as many things to do in Pittsburgh while you're here as there are reasons that could have brought you. Whether you like shopping, the outdoors, tourist spots, architecture, learning, or the arts, there's something for you here. With so many things to do, Pittsburgh's attractions are beyond the scope of this article, so we'll limit ourselves to telling you about a few of our favorites.
Art
There are art, music, and film festivals going on throughout the year, but if you're not fortunate enough to be in the city for one of them, you can spend your hard earned gold bullion bars on visiting the Andy Warhol Museum, the Carnegie Museum of Art, or the Westmoreland Museum of American Art. If you're interested in buying, visit the Mattress Factory for local art. There's a constantly revolving performing arts menu at local theaters as well, and Pittsburgh even has its own symphony orchestra!
History
Pittsburgh is a fairly old city by North American standards. Strolling the streets, especially downtown, will yield a slate of historic and modern architectural creations, many of which were designed by famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright. It's well worth packing up your baby's diapers and taking her on one of the many walking tours of the city, where you can learn about the Revolutionary War and the Underground Railroad. Or visit one of the history museums. The Carnegie Museum of Natural History showcases over 5 billion years of history!
Sports
Some of the most popular things to do are attend Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins games during football, baseball, and hockey seasons. You can also take in college sports or play a little yourself in one of the city's parks during your break from organizing a merger with Cane Line Furniture in Toronto. Cycling, hiking, paddling, fishing, camping, skiing and climbing are all popular activities in city and state parks. Point State Part and its 150ft waterfall is a National Historic Landmark and Lake Arthur is full of fish. Both are well worth a visit.
Play
Got kids? Don't think they'll be sitting in the hotel room fiddling with their cell phone accessories all day. There's plenty of family fun to be had in Pittsburgh. Kennywood Amusement Park has rides and games. There are animals and fish at the Pittsburgh Zoo and Aquarium, robots at the Carnegie Science Center, and interactive displays at the Children's Museum. Kids also love to ride the tracks at the Trolley Museum, cruise the river on the Gateway Clipper, and play with the birds at the National Aviary.
